جاء كتاب “دليل فنّ التطريز الفلسطينيّ” نتيجة جهود مشتركة لإثنين من الفنّانين التشكيليّين الفلسطينيّين، هما: سليمان منصور ونبيل عناني، وقد استغرقت هذه الجهود عدّة سنوات من الدراسة النظريّة والبحث الميدانيّ والرسم والتخطيط.
يحتوي الكتاب على فصل نظريّ بمثابة مقدّمة عامّة لفهم طبيعة فنّ التطريز الفلسطينيّ وتاريخه وتطوّره ووظائفه، ويحتوي الكتاب على 642 عرقاً نقلت عن زخارف التطريز الفلسطينيّ الموجودة على عشرات القطع من الملابس الشعبيّة الفلسطينيّة.
كما تمّ تبسيط هذه العروق عن طريقها رسمها على ورق المربّعات بدقّة متناهية وبالألوان الموجودة في الأصل، وأعطيت أرقام ألوان الخيوط المستعملة في كل عرق حسب دليل شركة DMC الفرنسيّة تسهيلاً لتناقل هذه العروق وإستعمالها على المستوى الشعبيّ.
كذلك تمّ ترقيم العروق وإرفاق بعض المعلومات الأساسيّة عن كلّ عرق، مثل الإسم المدرج للعرق، وموقعه في القطعة المطرّزة، والمنطقة الجغرافيّة التي أخذ منها العرق، وذلك توخّياً لتسهيل عمل المهتمّين والباحثين والدارسين
